Edward Gerard Fike was born and raised in Parma, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Mr. Fike received his BA in English from Cleveland’s John Carroll University in 1988 and a JD from Santa Clara University in 1990. After graduating from law school and passing the California bar, he joined Hobee’s California Restaurants, the popular Silicon Valley family restaurant chain as vice president and general counsel. He was promoted to president in 2005 and served in that capacity until the family business was sold in 2017. Mr. Fike continues to assist the company as a business advisor.
During his tenure at Hobee’s, Mr. Fike was named to The Silicon Valley Business Journal’s “30 Under 30” and “40 Under 40” lists of influential business leaders. He served four terms as president of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the California Restaurant Association.
In 2019, Mr. Fike joined the Santa Clara-based boutique employment law firm of Hixson & Nagatani LLP. His part-time practice focuses on compliance-related employee training and general employment law advice.
Mr. Fike has been mentoring clients at the Silicon Valley Small Business Development Center since 2018. He enjoys sharing his business and legal expertise with local entrepreneurs, especially those who are starting new ventures.
Mr. Fike is an avid distance runner and has completed 45 marathons. He aims to complete a marathon in each of the 50 U.S. states. He resides in Los Altos Hills with his partner, Bill, and their Jack Russell Terrier, Sydney.
